The opening remark was delivered by Pastor Isabelle Detavernier, President of the Synodal Council of the United Protestant Church in Belgium (EPUB), who gave a reflection based on Romans 12:2–8. In her remark, she emphasized the theological importance of unity within the Body of Christ, stressing that believers, though endowed with diverse spiritual gifts, are called to serve together in harmony and mutual responsibility. Echoing the Apostle Paul’s exhortation in Romans 12:2–8, she encouraged participants not to conform to the patterns of the contemporary world, but to be transformed through renewed faith and service.
The opening day was moderated by Eric JEHIN, a member of EPUB, some delegates from EPUB attended and they are welcomed. This gathering serves as an important platform to share the activities implemented by EPR with the support of various partners, while strengthening the longstanding partnership between EPR and its partners. It also provides an opportunity for experience-sharing and reflection on joint initiatives aimed at promoting community development.
The multilateral meeting reflects a shared commitment to fostering solidarity and strengthening mutual support in advancing the mission and values of the Church and its partners.
