    EPR Hosts First Presbyterian Church of Nashville Delegation on Development and Mission Visit

    On Monday, August 18, 2025, the Presbyterian Church of Rwanda (EPR) welcomed a delegation of partners from the First Presbyterian Church of Nashville, USA. The guests were officially received by the Vice President of EPR and were briefed on the church’s ongoing projects across its departments and presbyteries, including initiatives supported by the partnership.

    The visit aimed to monitor and strengthen collaboration in both development and evangelism programs. As part of their itinerary, the delegation visited Kanombe Parish, where they joined celebrations marking the parish’s 25th anniversary and reflected on the fruitful journey of partnership in ministry and community development.

    The delegation also toured the Centre Presbytérien d’Amour des Jeunes (CPAJ), where they interacted with children reintegrated from street life and young mothers receiving support through the church’s programs.

    In their remarks, the visitors expressed great appreciation for the tangible progress achieved through the partnership, noting the active involvement of youth in various leadership and development initiatives. They commended EPR for its visible impact and the positive transformation in communities.

    The EPR leadership, in turn, thanked the delegation for their unwavering support, emphasizing that their contribution continues to play a vital role in advancing the mission of the church and bringing meaningful change to the lives of Rwandans across the country.

    EPR : Ordination March 3, 2024,

    The Presbyterian Church in Rwanda (EPR) on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at the Presbytery of Remera, held the ordination of 21 pastors including 7 women and 14 men. The EPR President, in his speech, explained that the pastors were first trained about the pastoral ministry, in the PIASS school, after the training they undertook a pastoral internship, the successful ones were allowed to be instructed in pastoral ministry. He said that this training would help them in their calling and reminding them that shepherding Christ’s flock requires self-sacrifice. The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Kamonyi, pastors, Christians, friends of the Church and invited families.

    General Synod of EPR at its 50th Ordinary session

    The EPR General Synod at its 50th Ordinary Session convened on 18-19 December 2023, at the Bethany Investment Group/Isano branch. This is the highest decision-making body of the Church, which last met during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, and elected the leadership of the Church, which was then re-confirmed and elected as the 2nd mandate.

    This time including the election of the general synod committee, as well as the Council of the Synod  and was attended by about 62 delegates from the 7 presbyteries of the EPR.

    11 years of anniversary of grassroots communities

    Presbyterian Church in Rwanda,  Kiyovu parish celebrated 11 years of anniversary of grassroots communities. They started in 2013 with the books of teachings given once a week, the discussions and information given at this time have an important role in changing family members and their places of residence, and are intended for all church members.
    
    The testimony of church members showed that the grassroots community plays a big role, and the positive impact. They said that in this meeting, alongside the word of God, it is also the time for the exchange of ideas within the framework of the development of the Church and of themselves and this increases unity and love between them.
    
    It was a happy day for the members of Kiyovu Parish; The Vice-President and Legal Representative of EPR, Rev. Julie Kandema came to join them and the presidents of the grassroots communities received the certificates of appreciation.

    EPR Welcomed The youth seminar – Central Africa Region

    The youth seminar – Central Africa Region was prepared by the Cevaa, took place from 03th   to 09th   july 2022 at  Kigali in Bethany Investment Group / Branch Isano.

    Vice-President and Legal Representative of the Presbyterian Church in Rwanda, as a member of the Cevaa, welcomed the participants of the seminar from different African countries: Rwanda, DRC, Center Africa, Gabo, Bene, Togo and Cameroon.

    During their stays, took lessons

    – Region, peace and non-violence

    – Evangelization with respect for others

    -Peacefully deal with theological and doctrinal differences

    – Social networks and radicalism

    At the end of the seminar the Church Leader organized the meeting of the participants and Ministry of Local Government Rwanda. The Minister recommended these young people to be promoters for the development of Africa.
