EPR Strengthens pastoral ministry with Ordination of 30 New Pastors, December 14, 2025

On Sunday 14.12.2025 at the Presbytery of Remera, Remera Parish a ceremony was held to ordain 30 pastors who have completed their pastoral training after completing their theological studies at the university.

The event brought together members of the Church (EPR Christians and pastors) as well as guests from various Christian organizations, institutions, and other churches operating in the country. Representatives of local government authorities were also in attendance, and the Guest of Honor was the Governor of the Southern Province.

In his address, the President of the Church thanked God for the new pastors the Church has gained, as well as for their families. He reminded the newly ordained pastors of the great responsibilities to which they are called and expressed gratitude to all church members, encouraging them to continue supporting the pastors in their ministry.

He also thanked the government authorities, highlighting the good collaboration between the state institutions and the Church in fulfilling their respective missions, which contributes to the effective accomplishment of God’s work. He further noted that such an event demonstrates the growth and progress of the EPR church, as reflected in the achievements it has made throughout the years of its ministry in the country.

The Guest of Honor also warmly thanked the leadership of the EPR Church and the church members in general for the tangible and visible achievements the Church has made, particularly in the Southern Province. He highly commended the EPR’s vision of training pastors and providing them with practical pastoral experience before ordination, and encouraged the Church to maintain this commendable approach, describing it as a distinctive practice that aligns with the aspirations of the nation.

He also congratulated the newly ordained pastors and especially appreciated the inclusion of women among them, emphasizing that both men and women are called by God to serve Him without discrimination. He urged the pastors to put into practice the teachings and guidance they had received and to remain faithful to the commitments they made. He concluded by wishing them success and blessings.
