The camp will emphasize discussions and activities aimed at improving the wellbeing of these children.

In her address to attendees, the Vice President highlighted the following key points:

    • Education: Education is the foundation of a good life. We are all called upon to work together to help these children develop values that distinguish right from wrong, foster self-respect, and encourage personal growth.

During this camp, participants will discuss how to maintain health by preventing diseases and recognizing when to seek medical care. Special attention will be given to sexual and reproductive health, which is crucial for our youth to avoid adverse consequences.
    • Hygiene: Hygiene is the source of health. We hope that today’s children will understand the importance of personal cleanliness, including body hygiene, clothing, living environments, and play areas, as essential measures to prevent diseases and promote self-esteem.

The Vice President of EPR concluded by expressing gratitude to KOICA for their instrumental role in organizing the camp, affirming that these lessons will yield significant positive outcomes by offering children renewed hope and a brighter future.

He wished all participants a successful camp filled with unity, collaborative learning, and purposeful recreation.

Currently, the construction work is progressing well and is nearing completion. There is strong optimism that the classrooms will soon be ready for use, providing a safe and supportive learning environment for young children in the region.

In addition to their involvement in the construction of Early Childhood Development (ECD) classrooms, the international volunteers from the Netherlands also engage in various sports and recreational activities with local youth from the surrounding communities. These interactions serve as a platform for cultural exchange, mutual learning, and the strengthening of social bonds.

Through friendly games and open dialogue, the young participants have the opportunity to share and celebrate their diverse cultural backgrounds while also learning about Rwanda’s history and heritage. This aspect of the project not only fosters intercultural understanding but also contributes to building lasting connections between the volunteers and the local community.
