    On July 23, 2024, MoU with the Dutch organization “World Servants.”

    President and Legal Representative of Presbyterian Church in Rwanda ( EPR)  signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Dutch organization “World Servants.” Starting next year, they will bring young people to participate in various infrastructure projects, including Early Childhood Development centers, primary classrooms, and health facilities

    30th Commemoration of the Genocide Against the Tutsi

    The Presbyterian Church in Rwanda commemorates the 30th anniversary of the genocide against the Tutsi in April 1994. This time at the level of the Church, on 08 June 2024, the commemoration took place in Kirinda presbytery, Western Province. This action was held in all parishes of the 7 presbyteries of the Church.

    The visit of the PPLM to the EPR on 07th June 2024

    The Department of Health in Presbyterian Church in Rwanda implements numerous  activities including various projects such as “ ESMPA Project” which aims at Educating Youth about Reproductive Health, Responsible Sexuality and Promotion of Positive and Transformative Masculinities among the adolescents. This project is funded by ‘’Pain  Pour Le Monde” (PPLM) or Bread for the World.

    It is in this context that on 07th June 2024, in Bugesera District, Shyara sector,  in-charge of Project from PPLM accompanied with the Vice President of EPR and Project Staff at EPR paid a visit  unto the beneficiaries of this project in Nyamirama Parish.

    The main purpose of this visit was to monitor the implementation of project activities such as the sensitization of youth about prevention of unwanted pregnancies through educative sessions about reproductive health and vocational training of teen single mothers in tailoring and hairdressing trades.

    Besides it was a good occasion to introduce Mrs. Stephanie Arzinger who replaced Mrs. Françoise Nicole Ndoume as a new-in-charge of projects in the great lakes region, central Africa Unit and and supraregional projects.

    The Seminar for Healthcare Professionals (PSS) by Cevaa

    From May 5th  to May 11st , 2024, EPR hosted an international conference at the Bethany Investment Group, in collaboration with Cevaa, titled The Seminar for Healthcare Professionals (PSS) organized in collaboration with CEVAA. The seminar was attended by Chaplains, Hospital Directors and Operational Technical Committee, from the following countries: Côte d’Ivoire, Benin, Togo, Ghana, Zambia, Central Africa, Lesotho, Cameroon, and Rwanda.

     

    As the conference aimed to Increase the standard of hospitals through idea exchange. The participants visited the Ministry of Health on the first day. There, they were interviewed by the Minister of Health and shared insights into the structure and operation of the healthcare system.

    Officially opening was, on Tuesday, May 7th 2024, with welcoming remarks from the EPR President, who extended best wishes for the success of the meeting in Rwanda.

    Throughout the gathering, there were discussions on the proceedings, alongside visits to Kirinda Hospital, which is supported by Cevaa. The hospital benefits from expert medical personnel and state-of-the-art medical equipment.

    Inauguration of ICT classroom at The CPAJ

    On 18th 04 2024, the ICT Classroom was inaugurated at the CPAJ (Centre Presbyterien d’Amour des Jeunes).

    It is a KOICA-funded project aimed at improving the school’s capacity. According to the Country Director of KOICA in Rwanda, the project was implemented to provide CPAJ students with opportunities for self-development not only in professional activities but also in technological capacity building in line with Rwanda’s youth development strategy.

    The Deputy Moderator of the Kigali Presbytery, who was representing the leadership of the Church, in his speech appreciated the good and continuing cooperation between EPR and KOICA. The delegation in the private sector of the government expressed appreciation, saying that the Church helps the government to address and take care of the needs of the community, the students are expected to follow and take care of the new creations they will receive, taking care of the materials they have been given.

    EPR : Ordination March 3, 2024,

    The Presbyterian Church in Rwanda (EPR) on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at the Presbytery of Remera, held the ordination of 21 pastors including 7 women and 14 men. The EPR President, in his speech, explained that the pastors were first trained about the pastoral ministry, in Protestant Institute of Arts and Social Sciences (PIASS), after the training they undertook a pastoral internship, the successful ones were allowed to be instructed in pastoral ministry. He said that this training would help them in their calling and reminding them that shepherding Christ’s flock requires self-sacrifice. The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Kamonyi, pastors, Christians, friends of the Church and invited families.
