    The visit of the PPLM to the EPR on 07th June 2024

    The Department of Health in Presbyterian Church in Rwanda implements numerous  activities including various projects such as “ ESMPA Project” which aims at Educating Youth about Reproductive Health, Responsible Sexuality and Promotion of Positive and Transformative Masculinities among the adolescents. This project is funded by ‘’Pain  Pour Le Monde” (PPLM) or Bread for the World.

    It is in this context that on 07th June 2024, in Bugesera District, Shyara sector,  in-charge of Project from PPLM accompanied with the Vice President of EPR and Project Staff at EPR paid a visit  unto the beneficiaries of this project in Nyamirama Parish.

    The main purpose of this visit was to monitor the implementation of project activities such as the sensitization of youth about prevention of unwanted pregnancies through educative sessions about reproductive health and vocational training of teen single mothers in tailoring and hairdressing trades.

    Besides it was a good occasion to introduce Mrs. Stephanie Arzinger who replaced Mrs. Françoise Nicole Ndoume as a new-in-charge of projects in the great lakes region, central Africa Unit and and supraregional projects.

    On 28th  June 2022, the Vice – President and Legal Representative of EPR, Rev. Kandema Julie welcomed Mrs. Francoise Nicole Ndoume, coming from the Pain Pour Le Monde (PPLM) in Germany, as one partner of the Presbyterian Church in Rwanda. 

    With the staff team of the health department, they visited the activities of the said department financed by PLLM, in  Remera Presbytery including young people who take training in sewing, hairdressing and students of Remera – Rukoma Secondary School  trained in reproductive Health.

    Delivery of Certificate to teen mothers

    On 25th May 2022, in Kirambo Parish, Rubengera Presbytery, there was a delivery of certificates to 20 teen mothers who have been trained in the sewing trade.

    This training was funded by the health department in its project named Education of youth about the responsible sexuality and promotion of positive and transformative masculinities for the adolescents. (ESMPA)

    The interviews conducted with these trained teen mothers showed that they have problems in their families where they live. In this sense, the project’s beneficiaries were happy about this significant contribution from the church, which will bring them a satisfying yield for changing their lifestyle.
