    KIRINDA  PRESBYTERY

    Kirinda is one of 7 presbyteries that make up the Presbyterian Church in Rwanda. This organ has been named presbytery by the EPR  General Synod,  which took place on March 10 -14, 2014. The structure of the EPR was changed there was a combination of what were regions, formed 7 presbyteries. It is located in Karongi District, Ouesten Province.

    The historical background of Kirinda Presbytery is the foundation of Protestantism in Rwanda and of the Presbyterian Church in Rwanda because the first protestant missionaries started at Kirinda. This Presbytery has taken the regions of Kirinda, Itabire and one parish of Gaseke.

    Kigali Presbytery

    Kigali Presbytery was composed by group of Kigali, Bugesera and Byumba regions ( region was  old term used before February 2014). In March 2014, The EPR General Synod established the decentralization system where the 7 presbyteries were set up, Kigali Presbytery is one in these presbyteries. Head office is located in Amajyambere village, Musezero cell, Gisozi sector, Gasabo district, Kigali city. It composed by 22 parishes and 14 sub- parishes.

    Remera Presbytery

    • Remera presbytery is one among seven presbyteries that compose the Presbyterian Church in Rwanda, situated in the southern province, Kamonyi District, Rukoma sector, Remera Cell, Kabande village.
    • It comprises 31 Parishes, among them 4 Parishes still missionaries (sub-Parishes).
    • The total number of church members is 42 557 from 568 basic communities with 105 local (2019 census)churches.
    • The workers are into two categories( Pastors and Laics). And Pastors are classified into different categories including:

           .10 Church Leaders that  leads Parishes

          .6 Lay workers

    • In Education sector, we have 27 nusery schools, 15 Primary schools  5 nine years basic education schools RemeraRukoma secondary school, and Karama secondary school.

    •  It has RemeraRukoma District Hospital and RemeraRukoma Health Center.

    THE PRESBYTERY OF ZINGA

    Zinga Presbytery is one among seven Presbyteries of the Presbyterian Church in Rwanda; it is located in Eastern Province, Rwamagana District, Kigabiro sector, Cyanya cell Bigabiro village and it covers the six districts.

    The history of the Presbyterian Church in Rwanda indicates that the village of Zinga is where the first missionaries from German Bethel Mission started in August 1907 the first Protestant Church in Rwanda which is today the Presbyterian Church in Rwanda.

    However those missionaries did not stay at Zinga for long time, after few months they decided to move to Southern Province where the King was based. From there they got a permission to start the Presbyterian Church in Rwanda, the King has obliged them to start at Kilinda which became the first missionary station. From that time Zinga was left out.

    It is in 2007 when the Church celebrated its centenary remembered Zinga Village where the first missionaries began their mission even though they did not stay longer. During centenary celebrations the church together with Bethel mission people decided to restart Zinga by building the chapel and Primary school

    In 2014 when the Presbyterian Church reformed its structures where 17 Regions existed before were emerged into 7 Presbyteries, the Eastern Presbytery was named “Zinga”in order to bring back the history of the Church
